Background
ICH4011 is an unconjugated, non-therapeutic recombinant analog of the anti-CD20 antibody rituximab, supplied strictly for research use only. Built as a human IgG1 kappa immunoglobulin directed against the B-cell surface antigen CD20, it reproduces the binding specificity of the originator biologic without being intended for any human or veterinary clinical use. The material is well suited as a positive control and reference reagent in assays that interrogate CD20 engagement, and as a benchmarking tool when characterizing novel anti-CD20 candidates, biosimilar comparators, or Fc-engineered variants. Because it is provided in bulk milligram-to-gram quantities at research grade, with low-endotoxin (typically <1 EU/mg, or <0.5 EU/mg ultra-low) options, it is appropriate for cell-based functional work, in-vitro neutralization and cross-blocking studies, and preclinical model development where consistent lot-to-lot performance matters. Researchers commonly use it to standardize flow cytometry staining of CD20-positive B cells, to probe complement-dependent and antibody-dependent effector mechanisms, and as a scaffold reference in ADC or bispecific development pipelines. It is not the clinical drug and carries no therapeutic claim. CD20 (MS4A1) is a non-glycosylated, four-transmembrane-domain phosphoprotein of the MS4A family expressed on the surface of B lymphocytes from the late pro-B/pre-B stage through mature B cells, but absent on hematopoietic stem cells, early pro-B cells, and terminally differentiated plasma cells. It contains two extracellular loops, with the larger second loop carrying the epitope recognized by most therapeutic anti-CD20 antibodies. CD20 is not shed or internalized appreciably upon antibody binding, which contributes to its durability as a target. Functionally it is implicated in calcium influx and B-cell activation, proliferation, and differentiation, likely acting as a store-operated calcium channel component. Its restricted, lineage-specific expression makes it a foundational marker for B-cell identification and a validated target for B-cell depletion strategies.
Other Names
MS4A1, B1, Bp35, CD20, CVID5, LEU-16, MS4A2, S7, membrane spanning 4-domains A1, FMC7
Specificity
Detects human CD20. This non-therapeutic antibody uses the same sequence as the therapeutic antibody Rituximab.
Purification Method
This monoclonal antibody was purified using multi-step affinity chromatography methods such as Protein A or G depending on the species and isotype.
Formulation
Phosphate buffered saline (PBS) pH 7.2,with no carrier protein, potassium or preservatives added. BSA and Azide free.
Storage
Stable for at least one week when stored sterile at 2-8°C. For long term storage aseptically aliquot in working volumes without diluting and store at –80°C. Avoid Repeated Freeze Thaw Cycles.
Use
Products are for research use only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
