Specificity
Anti-CD11a In Vivo Antibody - Low Endotoxin (38) recognizes Human CD11a. Anti-Human CD11a (Anti-LFA-1a) recognizes the (Mr 175 kDa) a chain of the leukocyte function associated antigen-1 (LFA-1). The leukocyte integrin LFA-1 is a member of a family of heterodimeric receptors that mediate divalent cation-dependent cellular adhesion reactions. LFA-1A binds to domain 1 of an intercellular adhesion molecule (ICAM) on target tissues.

Background
CD11a is the alpha-L integrin subunit of LFA-1, a leukocyte adhesion molecule essential for cell migration, firm adhesion and immune-synapse stability. Clone 38 (38.0) is a mouse IgG2a monoclonal antibody against human CD11a, validated for flow cytometry, Western blot, frozen-section IHC, immunofluorescence and immunoprecipitation. Low endotoxin clone 38 is manufactured to in vivo standards and produced in scalable milligram (mg) to gram (g) quantities for high-throughput and heavy-usage research programs. As a non-therapeutic, research-use-only (RUO) reagent, it delivers reproducible results for integrin and leukocyte adhesion studies.

Antigen Distribution
The CD11a antigen is present on most leukocytes and plays a vital role in cellular immune responses which require adhesion. Lymphocyte activation via the T-cell antigen receptor (TCR) up-regulates LFA-1 function. The absence of LFA-1A or B may induce the
